Breakaway Impact Shields are one of the biggest advances in trace technology. This clever, foolproof system provides near-total reliability, ensuring a clean release almost every cast. No more guessing if your hook is still caught in the bait clip on the seabed — the Impact Shield guarantees the hook is thrown clear.

Unlike ordinary wire or plastic clips that depend on luck or leader slackness to disengage, the Impact Shield releases every time. When set, the hook should sit firmly in the clip, with just enough rubber tension to prevent the shield from sliding due to wind resistance.
